About the Lausanne Learning Institute

The Lausanne Learning Institute (July 14-17, 2013) is an international think tank for schools. Created and hosted by Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee, the Lausanne Learning Institute offers over 200 breakout sessions – from hands-on events to lectures, discussions and networking. Conference sessions meet the needs of educators, administrators, technology integrationists, technology support personnel and more. In 2012, over 600 attendees from 32 states and 13 countries attended, representing more than 130 schools and school districts. Over half those attending are K-12 teachers who collaborate with peers and learn tips for using laptops and tablets in their own classrooms.

The Lausanne Learning Institute provides most meals as well as ongoing shuttle service to/from the hotel and Lausanne’s campus and admission to all sessions and evening events. Not only does this provide plenty of chances to network and learn as much as you can while you’re here, but also makes it easy for our participating schools to make travel plans. No need for rental cars or an extensive food stipend!

New this year is an Extended Day event on Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday.  “From Pedagogy to Practice”, this event will feature 2-hour and 1-hour workshops designed to assist school leaders and teachers in many aspects of independent school frameworks.

What do Previous Attendees Say About the Conference?

This was a great experience for our first time – I am truly pleased with how our teachers responded and that they found the sessions very helpful. I hope that we can return next year.

-Cindy Spenner, Educational Technology Coordinator
Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools, Sioux City, IA

It was wonderful to talk to other teachers in the same discipline and to find out that frustrations and excitement are the same whereever you are in the world.

-Cheryl Douglas, Head of Biology Department
Bishops/Diocesan College (Cape Town, South Africa)

This is my 2nd year, and I continue to be impressed with your amazing conference and abilities to communicate effectively with the participants.  I felt so welcomed here last year and learned more than I could imagine in 2 days! I saved funds all year to come back with three teachers this yer.  By far, this is the BEST Conference that I have attended.  I am just as amazed in year two.

-Lynne Scheffler, Principal

St. Joseph School (Lockport, IL)
