Greg Graber - Mindfulness

I'm Greg Graber, a long-time educator, teaches mindfulness & meditation to students, teams, schools, organizations, and groups around the world. I work regularly with college and  professional sports teams as well as in schools. My client list includes the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, the Memphis Tigers, LSU, Mount St. Mary’s, Rhodes College, Mount St. Mary's, University of Memphis, Mitchell High School, Campbell University, and VCU.  I've been featured in the New York Times and on ESPN, and has lectured at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. As the Head of Middle School at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, TN., I developed the Unplugged Mindfulness Program for his students & teachers, and I consult with other schools on developing similar mindfulness programs at their institutions. My school clients include Deerfield Academy and many local schools in Memphis.

I hold a master’s degree in education and have advanced training in mindfulness studies from Mindful Schools, Harvard Graduate School of Education, UCLA, and the nation’s first graduate studies program in mindfulness at Lesley University. In addition, I have taught a mindfulness class at Rhodes College and have previously served on the ISM (Independent School Management) summer faculty.

I love working with administrative teams, athletic coaches, student athletes, student leaders, faculty groups, parents, and Trustees. Typically, I work at a school for a day or day and a half with a variety of groups and individuals including an afternoon, evening, and morning. My book, Mindful Living in an Accelerated Culture, will be published in the late Spring/early summer of 2018.

“Greg Graber joined our school community for a couple of days to lead interested athletes and coaches in mindfulness exercises to help them reach peak performance. Our student-athletes found him to be incredibly engaging and he provided practical and easy exercises to start improving performance immediately. Greg spoke candidly about his own experience with mindfulness and, in the process, was able to spark the interest of beginners and reach many of the skeptics. He was a total success!"-Samuel Bicknell, Administrator and 11/12th grade Dean at Deerfield Academy

"Greg Graber has been extremely influential in my life by helping me manage my time and stress levels. Because of Greg’s mindfulness training, I’ve been able to find small pockets of time to mentally recharge and maintain focus throughout the day."- Dave Joerger, NBA Head Coach (Sacramento Kings; Memphis Grizzlies)

“Greg Graber is ahead of his time with his mindfulness training.   Greg has a special innate ability to improve people mentally and help people better themselves with his mindfulness training.  He is a major force in the word of mindfulness coaching.” – Josh Pastner, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Georgia Tech University; 2017 ACC Coach of the Year

“I can say without a doubt that Greg Graber’s mindfulness advice and training helped me to become a Jeopardy! Champion.  Even under the lights and in front of an audience of millions, I was able to breathe deeply, to think clearly, and to live in the moment.  Despite pressure, I was able to achieve a “flow” state during my games, and I particularly found Mr. Graber’s mindful mental rehearsal exercises helpful.”    -Colby Taylor, Ph.D.

“As an educator and a parent of a young child with a learning disability, I have benefited from Greg's mindfulness sessions. The information I have learned in these sessions has enabled me to be more pro-active in monitoring her time with electronics and giving her more opportunities to be creative on her own and live in the moment.  As a result, I have seen a difference in her performance in school and ability to focus longer on a single task.  Greg's sessions have been an eye opener to me on how to best give our children a good balance in and out of the classroom.”  -Julie Cooper, middle school teacher and parent of elementary student,

"The key questions were mostly about how to be effective athletes, how to reach peak performance using mindfulness. He gave us great pointers on that. I’ve gotten great feedback and the students and coaches are excited." - Samuel Bicknell, Administrator and 11/12th grade Dean at Deerfield Academy
